Dave Bakke: Cost of living a simplified life? Priceless (The State Journal-Register)

With the economy tanking, people are cutting back on expenses. Not many of them will go as far down that road as have Don and Carey Smith Moorman. The Moormans have no car, no furnace and no TV. Working With My Kids’ Learning Styles

Catherine Martinneed bio pic I grew up going to school every day and learning what I was told to learn in whatever way the teacher chose to present it. Thankfully for me, I learn easily in most modalities. It wasn’t until my husband and I were homeschooling our kids that we realized just how important learning styles are for kids being academically successful. In school, teachers often use multiple modalities to try to make sure all learning styles are covered and help kids succeed.

Thanks to everyone who has ever recommended Walk Away the Pounds - sorry it took me over a year to get

I Confess … I Like the Duggars

I admit it. I have ranted about those “weirdos” with 18 kids. I’ve made fun of their big bus, their homeschooling, Michelle Duggar’s crazy hair and Jim Bob’s, well, everything. But after watching their show I have to say, I kinda — wait, no I really — like them.
